Statistically there is more crime today then there has been in years past.  Not only have assaults gone up in certain areas, but so has home invasions.  Bigger cities like Denver Colorado and Seattle Washington are big cities that have seen an increase in crime of home invasions.  Even a mid sized city like Tucson Arizona has had some increase in their crime statistics.  I know that in these cities, that a lot of people recommend a security system.  Overall it is something that should be looked at.  No matter how safe your part of town is there is always a chance that someone will look at your house or even a business as a good place to break into.

If you take a look at the dollars, the difference between a security system in Denver and a security system in Seattle, is really not much of a difference.  The security system in Tucson also has a bigger impact on your safety than what you would pay out.  Security systems tend to turn away those that might try to break in from your house.  Because there are often security system signs out in front of your house, the burglars now that your residence is protected.
